I Am follows a young woman named Gabi who is suffering from schizophrenia and also in the process of moving in with her boyfriend. Gabi has not told her boyfriend about her condition and she is struggling with managing it and trying to figure out how to tell him. We learn that this has not gone well for her in the past so she worries that once he knows, he’ll leave her.

“I Am” seeks to paint a different picture of schizophrenia
Earlier in the year, I introduced you to Oriane Pick and Rachel Mariam through their web series Call it a Day. While they are still working their way through the festival circuit with the series, they have remained busy. Most recently, they have turned their attention toward trying to help break the stigmas that surround schizophrenia through their short film I Am.
Call it a Day Review: I can’t get enough of these ladies
The ladies are flawed and they don’t pretend not to be but you cheer for them because dammit, they’re trying and the world isn’t exactly doing them any favors.
